EastEnders writer Daran Little denies 'leak' of 2024 storylines

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders writer Daran Little has denied that scripts from the BBC soap have been leaked.

A story conference for the soap took place earlier this week, with a Reddit user posting that an apparent script for a 2024 episode had been left behind after the event.

With the purported leak circulating on social media, speculation grew as to whether the document was indeed real, but Little confirmed via his Twitter account that the script was “not legit.”

Meanwhile, Bobby Brazier, who plays Freddie Slater, recently teased the events of the character’s very real storyline, with the actor saying it would be very “revealing.”

“I'm going to say for me, EastEnders history is about to go down,” he told OK! Magazine. “Freddie goes through a very revealing, deep, I guess in a way, experience. I think that the fans that have been watching for years, as many of them longer than I've been alive, are gonna really love that.

“And they're gonna feel a lot of things," he continued, miming a rollercoaster. “They're gonna feel everything Freddie feels and they are gonna scream at the TV, saying, 'What are you doing?!’”

EastEnders recently said goodbye to one character, with Lola Pearce-Brown tragically passing away following a battle with a brain tumour. Following Lola's death, Danielle Harold thanked executive producer Chris Clenshaw for fleshing out the character, saying it was a "lovely journey".

“I can't thank Chris enough. It's been the best exit and I can't thank him enough for the way it's been done,” she said. “It wasn't just the exit, but Chris really did let me play out all of Lola's life as well, in the space of a very short time.

“I've been on the show for so many years, but we'd never really dug into Lola at all over the years. To be able to find out her whole life in the space of this storyline has been pretty amazing.

"There have just been so many different things that I've always wondered about Lola as well, so to find it all out and work out all the answers, it's just been such a lovely journey,” she added.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
