Dua Lipa's black cut out dress is a sight to behold, and fans have gone wild

Dua Lipa is a fashion icon. There are no ifs or buts about it. The 27-year-old regularly takes to Instagram to share snaps of her latest looks and never fails to amaze fans with her impeccable style.

Most recently, the star posted a carousel of images donning one of her most striking fits yet. While posing in the French Riviera, where she's already been spotted wearing plenty of dazzling outfits at Cannes Film Festival (and making her red carpet debut with her filmmaker boyfriend, Romain Gavras), Dua rocked a Versace black bondage-style cut-out black dress.

The dress in question featured two crossover straps which were connected to two pocket-like pieces of material, complete with golden buttons covering her chest area.

Both were held together with two buckles and further black straps that joined the bottom half of the garment with the top.

Dua also shared shots from the back of the dress, which revealed more straps in a grid-like formation. The Levitation singer complimented the stunning look with her signature long dark brown hair sleekly styled in a side parting.

In terms of makeup, she decided to keep it simple and let the outfit do the talking. Opting for a small eyeliner flick, full eyebrows, a nude lip and a touch of blush, Dua completed the whole ensemble with classic Versace earrings and a whole host of butterfly-themed rings.

Naturally, fans were quick to gush over the outfit, with many describing it as "flawless."

"Butterfly queen," one person typed as another said: "Definition of pure perfection."

"Beauty queen of the era," a third penned as a fourth simply dropped a line of fire emojis.

While in Cannes, Dua also debuted her very own Versace collection, which she created with her "dear dear friend" and the brand's creative director, Donatella. Last week, she shared official footage from the luxe runway show that took place on the most incredible grounds and featured an abundance of looks from the said collection.

We've said it before and we'll say it again. It's Dua Lipa's world and we're just living in it.
