8:30 p.m. in Toronto doesn’t have the same ring to it as 5AM in Toronto, but Drake has summoned his fellow Raptors fans to join him for the most important game in franchise history.

Drake took to Instagram ahead of Thursday’s pivotal Game 5 against the Milwaukee Bucks and posted from a room facing the CN Tower, stating that he’d be in Jurassic Park to watch the game, while the Raptors are on the road.

“MEET ME IN JURASSIC PARK AT 8:30 WHOLE CITY SHOULD BE OUT LIKE THE SUN...HISTORY IS UPON US,” Drake wrote.

Although there was little reason to believe that Drake wouldn’t be a man of his word, it was still pretty cool to see him show up just after the game started, showing love to the fans.

The OVO head honcho has been a polarizing figure for the past two days after some took issue with his behaviour while standing courtside during Toronto’s Game 4 victory. Some, including Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer believe that Drake went too far, especially after massaging Raptors head coach Nick Nurse on the sidelines.

Bucks fans appear to think Drake’s upset, with one going as far to put a drawing of the logo crying and attached it to their Giannis Antetokounmpo jersey.

Nurse doesn’t appear fazed, however.

You may either love, hate or be indifferent to Drake and his music, but it’s undeniably cool that one of the world’s most famous rappers is taking in what could be a night to remember forever for Raptors and Toronto sports fans.
