Dortmund youngster leaves for Union Berlin

Borussia Dortmund have announced the sale of defender Tom Rothe to Union Berlin.

The 19-year-old, who memorably became the youngest player to score on his Bundesliga debut when he netted against Wolfsburg, spent last season on loan at Holstein Kiel and helped them gain promotion to the top flight.

Union have now signed him on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee, with Rothe penning a long-term deal.

He has also been capped by Germany at underage level.
