Disneyland looks apocalyptic as wildfires ravage California

The happiest place on earth was enveloped in ominous, orange skies this week as wildfires loom across several parts of California -- and people at Disneyland captured some unbelievable images of the scene.

The billowing smoke is a result of the Canyon Fire 2 which broke out Monday morning and is causing widespread devastation in Southern California. The fast-moving fire has ripped through 7,500 acres and as of Tuesday afternoon was 25 percent contained, according to Anaheim Fire & Rescue.

Disneyland visitors used their social media accounts to share surreal scenes from the park, including bright orange skies above Sleeping Beauty's Castle and thick smoke hovering in the background of Mickey's Fun Wheel at Disney California Adventure Park.

The park remains open and KTLA reports that no smoke alarms have been activated.
