Digging in with J.P. Arencibia Episode 18: Rowdy Tellez joins the show

On episode 18 of “Digging in with J.P. Arencibia,” Nick Ashbourne and J.P. welcome Blue Jays rookie and fan favourite Rowdy Tellez to the show.

The two chatted with the young first baseman about life in the big leagues, some of the things he has had to deal with away from the diamond, and the importance of being vulnerable and seeking out help when you need it.

Nick and J.P. also offer their late-season observations of Blue Jays rookies Ryan Borucki, Sean Reid-Foley, Danny Jansen and Thomas Pannone, and where they fit into the team’s plans going forward.

In baseball news outside of Toronto, the pairing reviewed Christian Yelich’s feat of hitting for the cycle twice within the same season. The former Blue Jays catcher talked about just how impressive it is to accomplish the task and the excitement it brings to the bench.

And lastly, the two would be remiss if they didn’t talk about the No. 1 story in sports this week: Fitzmagic. Could we see a baseball player walk up to the podium looking like that in the future?
