'I didn't know that': Garrett Wilson comments live on NY Jets signing Trevor Siemian

The New York Jets have been struggling at quarterback since losing Aaron Rodgers, who tore his left Achilles tendon in Week 1. The Jets current QB1, Zach Wilson, has not met expectations.

The Jets brought in and signed quarterback Trevor Siemian to the practice squad on Tuesday. Wide receiver Garrett Wilson learned of the signing during a segment on Sports Seriously.

“I didn’t know about it but we are excited to add anyone to the team and we trust what the people upstairs are doing,” Wilson said.

Wilson said that Zach Wilson has made it clear what he feels about competition and he is excited about it when asked about the quarterback dynamic moving forward. This is Zach Wilson’s third year with the Jets.

“My job is to make their job as easy as possible,” Wilson said.

How does the Siemian signing affect the Jets, Zach Wilson?

Siemian joins the Jets after being cut from the Cincinnati Bengals in August.

The Jets' head coach Robert Saleh has made it clear that despite signing Siemian, Zach Wilson will start as the quarterback for Week 4 and will be evaluated on a week-by-week basis. The Jets also have Tim Boyle listed as quarterback in their roster.

Saleh also said that Siemian will be inactive for the New York Jet's Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
