Did Terry Bradshaw really say that Dallas Cowboys should start Cooper Rush over Dak Prescott?
When Dak Prescott returns from his severe hamstring injury, he’s automatically the Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback, right?
Not so fast says Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw.
Prior to Thursday’s Cowboys’ Thanksgiving home game against the New York Giants, Bradshaw said on FOX’s NFL pregame show that the Cowboys should consider keeping Cooper Rush at quarterback.
“He (Rush) should probably be the starter when the other guy (Prescott) comes back,” Bradshaw said.
Prescott was injured during the Cowboys’ game against Atlanta on Nov. 3.
With Prescott out for the season, the Cowboys turned to Rush. Rush guided the Cowboys to the upset win over the Washington Commanders and started again on Thanksgiving in the home game against the New York Giants. Rush has started three games (against Houston, Washington and New York).
He guided the Cowboys to the 27-20 win over the Giants on Thanksgiving, their second straight win. The Cowboys are 5-7 with five games remaining.
He figures to be the starter the rest of the season.
And although Bradshaw says the Cowboys should consider starting him over Prescott, that likely won’t happen.
With Prescott’s record-setting $240 million contract, he’s penciled in the starting lineup for the next three seasons.
Plus, Rush is a free agent and can leave after this season.
