Dez Bryant fined after showing up too late for meetings and MRI

Everyone wanted to know the status of Dez Bryant’s knee early this week. The Dallas Cowboys wanted to know too.

So you can understand the Cowboys’ angst when their star receiver didn’t show for an MRI on Tuesday. He missed team meetings too after showing up late to the Cowboys’ facilities. So the team fined him, according to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News.

The news of Bryant’s hairline fracture in his knee broke on Wednesday. Early in the week the media members who cover the Cowboys seemed confused why the team didn’t release any new information on Bryant’s injury, which he suffered on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears. The reason no information was released is because they didn’t have the information, thanks to Bryant showing up too late to the team’s facilities.

The amount of the fine wasn’t disclosed, the Dallas Morning News said.

The worst news of the day for the Cowboys came from the MRI, which showed Bryant has a tibial plateau on the lateral side where the bone meets the knee, the Morning News said. He could miss three games, though he hasn’t been ruled out of this week’s game yet. The fact that Bryant blew off team meetings and an MRI on Tuesday probably isn’t something they wanted to deal with on top of the injury itself.
