Pistons fans are salty after Nike announces Jordan logo coming to ‘Statement Edition’ jerseys

The iconic Jumpman logo is coming to all NBA “Statement Edition” jerseys next season, and Detroit Pistons fans aren’t happy about it.

Nike announced on Tuesday that the special alternate jerseys will have the Jordan Brand’s Jumpman logo on the right shoulder of the jersey and left leg of the shorts starting next season for every team in the NBA.

Jordan had been on the All-Star jerseys for the past three seasons and on the Charlotte Hornets — which Michael Jordan owns — uniforms, too. The rest of the league, however, has the Nike logo instead. That logo will remain on the traditional uniforms next season.

The Pistons unveiled a sneak peak of the new logo on their alternate uniforms on Tuesday, too.

Though it’s a minor change, one that really doesn’t matter, the new logo will be a tough and frequent reminder for Pistons fans — many of whom clearly still have strong feelings from Jordan’s time with the Chicago Bulls and his rivalry with the “Bad Boys” teams in Detroit.
