Yahoo Sports Despite Losing Streak, Josh Koscheck Feels He's Better Than Ever
After suffering his fifth consecutive loss at UFC Fight Night 62 to Erick Silva on March 21, whether or not Josh Koscheck will fight again is in question. The loss was also the final fight on Koscheck’s UFC contract.
UFC president Dana White would like to see The Ultimate Fighter season one participant retire, but Koscheck isn’t ready to make that decision just yet.

“I’m not happy with where I’m at, obviously. I’m 37. The last couple of fights on my contract haven’t been the greatest,” he said during the event’s post-fight press conference in Rio de Janeiro. “I’ve had a good, long career since The Ultimate Fighter 1, and it’s been fun. It’s been a fun ride.”
The former welterweight title contender plans to take some time to reevaluate life in general as well as his fighting career. Despite his current losing streak, Koscheck believes that he’s better than he’s ever been.
“I feel I’m at the best I’ve ever been as far as skill-wise,” he said. “It hasn’t showed it lately in the fights, but I feel like the skills are there. I just need to put it together.”
Kosheck isn’t going to rush the decision making process. We may have seen his last fight in the octagon, or we might see him again. Either way, he’s got a life outside of fighting.
“I do have a lot of stuff going on outside of the UFC. I’m pretty busy when it comes to other businesses and things,” he said. “I think I will take the right time and I’ll make that decision when the time comes.”
