Denver Broncos at Miami Dolphins: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 3 game

Editor’s note: Follow all the NFL Week 3 action with USA TODAY Sports’ live coverage.

It's a game of firsts as the Miami Dolphins (2-0) host the Denver Broncos (0-2) for their first home game and the latter's first road game of the season.

Bradley Chubb faces his former team after being sent south in a trade last year. The Pro Bowl defender has 11 tackles and a sack so far this season for the undefeated Dolphins.

For Miami's offense, Tyreek Hill has been lighting up opposing defenders with 255 yards and three touchdowns across two games. Tua Tagovailoa leads the league with 715 passing yards so far.

The Broncos have had a slow start in the Sean Payton era and dropped two home games. Quarterback Russell Wilson has five touchdowns so far, including a Hail Mary at the end of their Week 2 loss against the Washington Commanders.

The two AFC teams haven't faced each other since 2020 when the Broncos won 20-13, Tagovailoa's rookie season where he had a touchdown in the effort. That year was the last time the Broncos started 0-3.

Lorenzo Reyes: Dolphins 29, Broncos 20

The Broncos showed they’re susceptible to big plays on defense and that’s a big problem because Miami’s offense, even with Jaylen Waddle in concussion protocol, appears to be one of the toughest units in the entire league. The bigger problem for Denver is that the Miami defense and pass rush is making plays, too.

Tyler Dragon: Dolphins 28, Broncos 20

The undefeated Dolphins have the top offense in the NFL and are averaging 30 points per game entering Week 3. The winless Broncos are still trying to find themselves offensively. Denver won’t get its first win this week.

Victoria Hernandez: Dolphins 28, Broncos 20

Miami is playing at home and their offense is chugging along nicely. The Broncos defense is decent, but their offense is still piecing things together. Maybe they need owner and seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton to help them strategize how to win.

Jordan Mendoza: Dolphins 31, Broncos 23

It’s hard to argue against the Miami offense being the best in the NFL so far, and they get a juicy matchup against a Denver defense that got ripped apart by Washington. The Dolphins offense gives the Broncos problems all day and continues to be one of the most dangerous teams in the league.
