On Monday, President Donald Trump met with the despotic leader of North Korea Kim Jong Un in Singapore to engage in nuclear talks.

Basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman was there too. While he wasn’t an official part of the U.S. delegation or involved the meeting, Rodman, who has formed an unlikely relationship with the murderous North Korean dictator, was in Singapore to show his support for the meeting.

Dennis Rodman there to support his friends

“I’ll give whatever support is needed to my friends, President Donald Trump and Marshall Kim Jong Un,” Rodman tweeted ahead of the summit

Trump left Monday’s one-on-one talks touting success and the “excellent relationship” he now has with Kim. The statement comes on the heels of Trump slamming Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as dishonest and weak while instructing his advisors to back out of a joint statement he had agreed to with U.S. allies at the G-7 summit.

Rodman, wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, had an emotional reaction to the summit from Singapore while talking with CNN.

Rodman: Trump-Kim meeting great ‘for everybody’

“Today is a great day for everybody, Rodman told CNN. “Singapore, Tokyo, China. It’s a great day. I’m so happy.

“Just meeting the regime, Kim Jon Un, and the whole marshals and everybody,” Rodman continued on why he was invested in North Korea. “I just fell in love with the country. From Day 1. I felt like I owe it to myself and the people of the world.”

Rodman said he received a call from the White House saying that “Donald Trump is so proud of you. He thanks you a lot.”
