DeMar DeRozan gives game-worn sneakers to Raptors fan sporting his jersey

New San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan still has love for fans who followed him in Toronto. Following a Drew League game, DeRozan spotted a fan wearing his jersey, and decided that fan could use a pair of his game-worn shoes to go with it.

Though DeRozan felt betrayed by the organization after the trade, he still loves Raptors fans. DeRozan wrote a heartfelt message to fans on his Instagram page Saturday.

DeRozan spent his first nine seasons in Toronto before he was traded to the Spurs for Kawhi Leonard.

What is the Drew League?

The Drew League website describes the league as a place where “young men and women of South Central Los Angeles to learn life lessons through basketball.” Games are played at Charles Drew Junior High School. A number of NBA stars have put their skills on display on the school’s court.

Not DeRozan’s first time appearing at the Drew League

DeRozan is from California and grew up in Compton. He’s come back to the state to be a part of the Drew League before. He even produced a great highlight in a game from 2017:
