Dates announced for the bowl games coming to SMU and TCU’s home stadiums in December

The Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl and the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl have announced when and where their 2023 games will take place.

The 21st edition of the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 at Amon G Carter Stadium. The bowl game will be featured on ABC for the first time.

The bowl game has been hosted at Amon G Carter Stadium almost every year since its inception. The Armed Forces Bowl focuses on honoring the men and women in the United States military and will hold pregame ceremonies for that reason.

Since 2014 this bowl game has been the second-highest scoring in the nation, second to only the Rose Bowl.

The SERVPRO First Responder Bowl will be played at 4:30 p.m on Dec. 2, at Gerald J. Ford Stadium. The bowl game debuted in 2011 and has taken place at Gerald J. Ford Stadium for the last four years in a row.

The bowl game began to honor first responders of all stripes from military personnel, police and EMTs among others in 2014 and changed its name to the First Responders Bowl in 2018.

Over the last four years, the bowl game has been one of the most exciting games in college football with three of the last four games being decided by a single score.
