Daniel Cormier to Defend 205-Pound Title Against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192

Daniel Cormier will defend his UFC light heavyweight title against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192, officials announced on Saturday.

The 205-pound title fight will headline the Oct. 3 pay-per-view, which takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston.

Cormier (16-1) will make his first defense as champion in the Gustafsson match-up. He earned the vacant title left by Jon Jones with a win over Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 this past May.

Gustafsson (16-3) comes into the bout off a loss to Johnson at UFC on FOX 14 this past January. His most impressive outing, however, is a hard-fought loss back at UFC 165 in 2013, a title fight that saw then-champion Jones take the worst beating from any opponent he's seen to date.

UFC 192 is currently in the development stage and more fights are expected to be announced for the card in the coming weeks.
