Philadelphia Flyers forward Dale Weise is going to have a hearing on Friday afternoon with the NHL Department of Player Safety for an illegal check to the head on Korbinian Holzer of the Anaheim Ducks in the Flyers’ loss on Thursday night.

Holzer played 10:11 in the game, and into the third period.

Now, we know what you’re saying: How can a hit that wasn’t penalized AND was the “Wells Fargo Hit of the Game” possibly deserve supplemental discipline?!

Weise was previously suspended three preseason games in 2013 for an illegal hit to the head of Taylor Hall.
