The D’Amelios are back on reality TV in more ways than one, and they’re having much more fun this time around.

The second season of The D’Amelio Show premiered earlier this fall on Hulu and sees the famous family settling into their lives as public figures and finding a better balance between their public and private lives. While it can still be a struggle, it’s a far different feeling this season from the first, which centered on Dixie and Charli D’Amelio’s struggles with mental health, both because of fame and the pandemic.

Dixie, Charli and their parents, Heidi and Marc, appeared on In The Know’s pop culture interview series We Should Talk recently to discuss Season 2 of The D’Amelio Show, what it’s like having everyone compare the two sisters all the time, living together without their parents and Heidi and Charli’s experience as competitors on the current season of Dancing With the Stars.

Listen to In The Know’s full interview with the D’Amelio family below and keep reading for highlights from the interview:

Dixie on living with Charli for the first time without their parents: Today her alarm went off and I heard it, so that was a little frustrating. But, that hasn’t happened in a very long time. […] But, no, there’s nothing [that we’ve had to learn since moving in together]. I got locked out of the house the other day, and that was a little annoying, [because of Charli’s boyfriend,] Landon. I got locked in the garage. I was banging on the door until someone came to open it. Those are just little things, and it’s not even her. We haven’t really done anything to annoy each other.

Charli being in a better place mentally with her career: I was in a much different place [earlier in this season], where I wasn’t enjoying what I was doing for work. I’m at a place now where going to work doesn’t even feel like going to work. I’m enjoying it, and I think that was because I lost myself a little bit. I had to get everything back in order and, now I definitely appreciate getting to do something like Dancing With the Stars and get to have fun and perform in front of my friends and family. That is everything that I wanted.

Heidi on leaning on one another during this season of Dancing With the Stars: We’re always checking in, like, “How was your rehearsal? How are you feeling? Are you tired? Did you sleep last night? I didn’t have a chance to have breakfast!” We’re constantly doing that, but it’s fun to do that and to have someone that you’re so close to going through it with you. Luckily, when we have our moments where we’re not doing so good, we don’t have them at the same time, which has been great. We kind of help each other through those times.
