Cubs fans are buying up every possible copy of the Chicago Tribune

How psyched are Chicago Cubs fans about their World Series win? So psyched that they’re buying up every possible copy of The Chicago Tribune — and in some cases, waiting in line and paying far above regular price to get it.

After Wednesday’s night’s nail-biting win in Game 7, the Tribune printed its usual 300,000 copies. Knowing demand would be high, it then printed an extra 400,000 copies. But even that wasn’t enough. The paper fired up the presses again and printed another 300,000 on Thursday afternoon, it said, meaning there are a cool one million copies in circulation.

A source tells Yahoo Sports that at one point Thursday, there was a line out the door at the Tribune and people were paying as much as $10 per copy. Figures, considering some were being listed for as much as $40 each on eBay. The normal daily price is $1.50.

You can look at Instagram to see just how much people in Chicago are chasing copies of the paper:

So the 2016 Chicago Cubs killed the Curse of the Billy Goat and proved that print isn’t dead. That’s quite a feat.
