The Crown and Outlander star Tobias Menzies has found his next role, as part of Brad Pitt's Formula 1 movie for Apple.

Pitt will play a former driving superstar who returns to the fold after some time away. Menzies will star alongside Snowfall's Damson Idris and The Banshees of Inisherin's Kerry Condon, although their roles haven't been revealed just yet.

Pirates of the Caribbean's Jerry Bruckheimer will produce, while Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski will direct. The Formula 1 community, including the teams and the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile), are all involved too, reports Variety.

It's not the only project starring Pitt that's on its way from Apple. Another untitled film stars both himself and his Ocean's co-star George Clooney, and it looks like they will be playing two fixers assigned to the same job.

In the latest casting update for the project, Euphoria star Austin Abrams has landed a key role. Although it's not public knowledge what the role is, it is apparently big enough to be considered the third lead alongside Pitt and Clooney.

Pitt recently made a surprising guest appearance on Dave, the sitcom starring rapper Lil Dicky as a fictional version of himself.

In the episode, which is the season 3 finale, Lil Dicky is filming a music video featuring Rachel McAdams and Pitt, which involves them getting held at gunpoint.

"I heard Brad Pitt was a fan of the show, without knowing that — you know, you hear it through the grapevine of Hollywood — and sent him a really well thought out email that took days to write, explaining the premise and why I thought this could be the coolest thing ever," Dicky explained.
