As the temperature drops and the days get shorter, there is nothing more satisfying than snuggling up on the couch with a nice cup of tea to watch a favorite autumnal movie. Bonus points if you’ve got a snuggly cat on your lap. For many across the country, the leaves are beginning to change and with that, everyone is doing all they can to prepare their homes for the cold days ahead.

While some may only opt for a small pumpkin on their coffee table to set the mood, there are plenty of other home decor ideas to make your living space as cozy (and seasonal) as possible. With the expertise of interior designers Amber Guyton of Blessed Little Bungalow and Jessica McCarthy of JAM x Creative, here are 10 products that are both affordable and chic to easily transform your space for optimal coziness.

When it comes to creating a cozy space, there is nothing that screams cozy like a delicious candle. “Changing your home's scent during the seasons is a super easy way to make your home feel cozy and unique to your personal scent preferences,” McCarthy says. If you really want to push the fall theme even further, try this pumpkin-shaped candle that smells like a warm bonfire. The Autumn Bonfire scent is packed with fallen pine cones, red oak, fresh eucalyptus and juniper berry. Truly intoxicating to smell — and adorable to look at.

One of the simplest ways to transform a space is to add texture and comfortable places to sit. Guyton recommends to “layer on different textures that add an element of comfort such as rugs, accent pillows and throws” to curate a cozy environment. This soft floor pillow is a prime example. Made of 100 percent polyester, this blush pillow gives you comfort and warmth without taking up too much space. Floor seating just got a whole lot chicer.

If you are looking for a effortless way to create ambiance in a room, try string lights. Although people usually decorate with them around the holidays, don’t let that deter you from putting these up year round. They are popular for a reason! To classy up this cozy add-on, go for a design that is less traditional, like this playful curtain alignment. Made of LED lights, wiring and plastic, hang these as a statement wall piece for an instant eye-catcher. Nothing sets the mood quite like twinkling stars.

Adding greenery to your space is an easy way to make it feel more homey and to bring nature indoors. But unless you have a serious green thumb, a faux plant is the way to go. It is the perfect way to make an environment feel cozier without breaking the bank or making a mess. This faux fiddle leaf, with gorgeous life-like green leaves, stands 5 feet tall and has a small weighted base that lets you place it inside a planter of your choice. You get the look of a real plant without the hassle of keeping it alive. Truly a win-win.

To transform your bland space into an intimate haven, both McCarthy and Guyton recommend using scent to ignite your senses. But don’t just settle for any old candle or essential oil. “You want to include items that will trigger the senses and emotion. Being intentional about each of these elements will insure your cozy home space is inviting, comfortable and stress-free,” Guyton says.

This essential oil diffuser is a perfect way to keep your space smelling perfectly, all day long. For up to four hours, you can slowly or steadily, release your aroma of choice while setting the mood with seven different light color settings. If you haven’t dabbled in aromatherapy before, this is the perfect place to start. In no time, your space will be smelling like your own personal spa.

Nothing makes a couch or chair cozier than snuggling up on a pile of soft pillows after a long day. Available in six different colors, this round velvet pillow is the perfect addition to any room. Made of 100 percent cotton with polyester filling, you can mix and match according to your color scheme, to elevate the space. Not only comfortable, but also totally stylish.

Whether you are blessed with hardwood floors, or live with carpeting, it is always a good idea to add multiple rugs to your space. Not only are they comfortable for your feet, but it also adds dimension to any space, which is the key to coziness. With your floor poufs and throw pillows, you will want a neutral element in the room to ground the design. This handwoven wool rug with tufted detailing is the perfect option for any type of interior.

If you want to take your space a step further, McCarthy recommends layering multiple rugs for a cozy feel. “Take an oversized jute rug and layer over it a smaller vintage rug to add more texture to your living space,” she says.

McCarthy believes that adding wallpaper is “an easy way to add a lot of interest to your space and warm it up with pattern.” With a simple design, a space can instantly feel cozier, and more personal. If you are stressing about the installation, don’t worry. There is a solution for that too. “Removable wallpaper is an easy way to make your space feel more homey without the commitment of paint and can be easily peeled off your walls if you change your mind or move. It's headache free with a big impact,” says McCarthy.

For an affordable and stylish option, try a nature-inspired design like this one. The illustrated leaves in multiple shades of green and white, give any room a cozy and warm feel. The layered design also adds an element of depth and dimension that you can really only get from wallpaper.

You don’t need an expert to tell you that the key to a cozy space is having a warm blanket to snuggle under. With the added texture and the soft feel, this ivory knit throw is both luxurious and comfortable. The best part is that it is made of cotton and machine washable, so you can eat all the comfort food on top of it without having to worry about the cleanup.

One of the final tricks to creating a cozy, but chic space is to clear the clutter, Guyton says. While you should embrace all your new throw pillows and blankets, sometimes having less out is more. When you are not using them, simply store them in a chic bin, like this tall textural basket made of rustic bankuan leaves. Sturdy enough to hold stored items, but soft enough to touch, this basket adds the perfect natural touch to any space.
