Cousins leads Vikings to overtime win at the Saints

The Minnesota Vikings caused a big upset in the wildcard round of the NFC playoffs on Sunday night after their 26-20 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins orchestrated an overtime game-winning drive that ended with finding tight end Mason Rudolph to win the match. It means that for two consecutive seasons the Saints have lost at home in overtime in the playoffs.

The Vikings went into the game as 7.5 point underdog but were guided brilliantly by Cousins and now face the Green Bay Packers in the next round.

Speaking straight after the game, Cousins said: “Well, we’ll go one week at a time, but the Saints are the real deal. This is a really tough environment. It was a team win. We ran the ball, we played good defense. To hold that offense to 20 points is a great job. Special teams gave us great field position all game long. And then we were able to make the play at the end with Rudy (Mason Rudolph).”
