Coronation Street airs aftermath of Justin stalking trial verdict

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has aired the aftermath of Justin Rutherford's stalking trial verdict for Ryan Connor and Daisy Midgeley.

Last week, Daisy and Ryan shared a passionate kiss after they were put through the traumatising experience of being cross-examined over the acid attack by Justin's aggressive barrister.

Monday's episode (June 5) opened with suspicion when Daisy's partner Daniel Osbourne spotted her sharing a knowing glance with Ryan while they waited for the verdict.

Daisy was crushed as she opened up her phone to see Ryan having messaged 'Crystal' to admit that he'd had a fraught moment with Daisy and instantly regretted it.

During the jury deliberation period, Daisy had to pretend that her tension with Ryan was caused by her guilt over leading him to believe he'd been having a romantic chat with Ibiza DJ Crystal for weeks now.

Luckily, the jury didn't believe the opposing lawyer's attempts to sway them that Daisy and Ryan orchestrated the acid attack to frame Justin and swiftly convicted the stalker.

Daisy's relief didn't last as Carla quickly worried her with talk of 'Crystal' suddenly ghosting Ryan. She went round to tell Ryan that they should keep their distance due to their kiss.

Meanwhile, Ryan was horrified to read on the real Crystal's social media that she'd been in a terrible accident and was in a coma.

A bit later, Daisy sent Ryan a message from the fake 'Crystal' and that's when he finally realised that someone has been catfishing him all these months!

Daisy may have even more trouble on her hands if partner Daniel were to find out that she'd secretly kissed Ryan after their emotional witness testimony hearings, according to cast member Rob Mallard.

"Daniel would be devastated. He would be angry with Daisy but probably less so with Ryan. Daisy's betrayal would devastate him and it would change things between them," Rob has hinted.

"If Daisy has demonstrated that she can be unfaithful, even if Daniel were to forgive her, he would never forget it. I think it would make them more volatile as a couple and more susceptible to not trusting each other."

Will Daisy face rejection from both men in her life?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
