Construction to cause closures on this major highway in San Joaquin County. Here’s when

Multiple Highway 4/Crosstown Freeway and Interstate 5 connector ramps in Stockton will be closed overnight beginning Sunday.

The closures are due to pavement repair to improve parts of eastbound and westbound Highway 4 from Fresno Avenue to El Dorado Street and the connector ramps to I-5, according to the California Department of Transportation.

Here’s what ramps will be closed and when, including what detour to take:

  • Eastbound Highway 4 to northbound I-5 | Sunday through Thursday | 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Eastbound Highway 4 to southbound I-5 | Monday through Friday | 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Westbound Highway 4 to northbound I-5 | Monday through Wednesday | 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Westbound Highway 4 to southbound I-5 | Sunday through Friday | 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Drivers can use Highway 4/Charter Way to access I-5 during the closures and should expect delays up to ten minutes, according to CalTrans.
