Conor McGregor couldn’t help himself. On Monday, the Irish mixed martial artist weighed in on Floyd Mayweather’s recently announced fight with Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an Instagram post.

It was, unsurprisingly, NSFW and racist.

Warning: Very profane language in the post below.

Fashion Police

First, McGregor criticized Mayweather’s blue and red track suit and somehow connected it to climate change and asking if it was hot in Tokyo.

The fight, which is scheduled for Dec. 31, won’t even be in Tokyo. It’ll be held in Saitama Super Arena in Saitama — an hour away from Tokyo.

But regardless, McGregor’s no Anna Wintour when it comes to fashion advice. This is a man with paisley print suits and a white mink fur coat.

Who is Tenshin Nasukawa?

A few profane words later, McGregor turned his attention to Mayweather’s scheduled opponent, saying “who’s this little p—k next to you?”

No word on if Nasukawa is a “p—k” who buys a fleet of cars or a white Gucci mink fur coat, but he is a guy with a better combat record (27-0) than McGregor (21-4 in MMA). Unlike McGregor, who lost in his only boxing match to Mayweather last August, Nasukawa is currently undefeated.

The up-and-coming kickboxer is 27-0 with 21 knockouts, while Mayweather is 50-0 as a boxer with 21 knockouts. Promoters have yet to announce the terms of the fight between the boxer and kickboxer.

History of questionable racist comments

Hidden among all the profanity was the racist comparison of Mayweather and Tenshin to “Rush Hour” actors Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.

Chan is not even Japanese — the actor is Chinese — but McGregor hardly seems to care. Nasukawa apparently noticed McGregor’s Instagram post, and does seem to care. But instead of giving McGregor a taste of his own medicine, Nasukawa’s response was respectful and kind — i.e. the opposite of what McGregor wrote.

Monday wasn’t the first time McGregor’s made questionable comments of the ilk. There were comments about Mayweather leading up to their boxing match in 2017 and most recently about Khabib Nurmagomedov which culminated in UFC 229’s post-fight brawl.

Here’s hoping McGregor won’t be in the stands in Japan to start another fight.
