Connor McDavid suspended 2 games for hit on Nick Leddy
Connor McDavid isn’t known for physical play, let alone dirty play, but he’ll be taking a seat for two games due to his hit on Islanders defenceman Nick Leddy.

At the time McDavid had this to say about the play, per the Edmonton Sun:
“Obviously it’s not a great check, it’s not what I was trying to do. I wasn’t trying to finish my check on him and he stopped a little earlier than I thought, and I hit him a bit too high.”
He was accessed a two-minute penalty for the hit and Leddy continued to play after clearing concussion protocol.
McDavid, who has just 18 penalty minutes on the season and has never topped 26, will forfeit $134,408.60 as a result of the suspension. He’s got 85 points in 58 games this season and his absence won’t help an Oilers team with a 25-29-6 record that sits 15th in the Western Conference.
