This just in: Conan O’Brien is a horrible soccer player.

That not-so-surprising revelation came from the late-night TV show host himself on Sunday during the taping of a special “Conan” episode in Mexico City. As part of “Conan Without Borders: Made in Mexico” (which will air on TBS on Wednesday, March 1), O’Brien played a pick-up game at Parque Pilares with LA Galaxy and Mexico national team star Giovani Dos Santos. Afterward, the two analyzed the performance of the gangly 6-foot-4 O’Brien on Facebook Live.

Dos Santos began by saying he was surprised by O’Brien’s first touch, which the comedian chalked up to his agility “like a cat” – the comparison prompting O’Brien to prance around, supposedly, like a “gato.” Dos Santos then presented O’Brien his very own Mexico national team shirt, and the appreciative American asked if he could wear it playing for El Tri, an idea that would be fully embraced by the United States men’s national team and its supporters.

“Perfect,” the amenable Dos Santos said.

“You are way too nice,” O’Brien interrupted. “I would destroy your team.”

Sona Movsesian, O’Brien’s assistant, provided the harshest critique of her boss.

“I don’t even think there’s a way to sugar-coat it – he’s just really bad at soccer,” she said. “But he’s also terrible at almost every sport he plays.”

Movsesian wasn’t done. “He has the palest legs I’ve ever seen in my life,” she added.

Team Coco’s Facebook Live video did not show actual action of the game, but the photos below should help paint a picture of O’Brien’s ability if you’re willing to be mentally scarred by his tight, striped shorts.

The Galaxy, who are currently preparing for the Major League Soccer season, allowed Dos Santos to travel to the Mexican capital to participate in O’Brien’s show. O’Brien marveled at the reaction Dos Santos received from the locals when the former Barcelona prospect walked into the park.

“It’s one of the greatest reactions I’ve ever seen in my life,” O’Brien said.
