Cole Konrad vs. Eric Prindle Off Bellator 65

Cole Konrad vs. Eric Prindle Off Bellator 65

Eric Prindle just can’t catch a break.

The Bellator heavyweight contender fought Thiago Santos to a no-contest last November when he couldn’t continue due to an accidental low blow from Santos. They’re rematch was then sidetracked once due to Prindle coming down with flu-like symptoms just days before the fight, and then again when Santos was well overweight for the bout.

Bellator officials then decided to scrap the fight with Santos and move Prindle on to the heavyweight championship bout against Cole Konrad.

That fight was slated for this week’s Bellator 65 in Atlantic City, N.J., but Prindle injured his hand, putting the fight on the backburner once more.

Prindle will still face Konrad, but the bout has been moved to Bellator 70 on May 25. Bellator has yet to release the venue and location of the event. Prindle on Tuesday tweeted about the latest delay.

Konrad has been patiently waiting on the sidelines for his first title challenge. He won the belt by submitting Neil Grove in October 2010, and has only fought once since. Konrad won a decision over Paul Buentello in a non-title bout last August. So he is as anxious as Prindle for this fight to happen.

With the luck Prindle has had, however, it’s anybody’s best guess if they make it to Bellator 70 in May.
