Cleveland Monsters Sign Mark Duarte To PTO
The Cleveland Monsters have signed forward Mark Duarte to a professional try-out, the team announced Tuesday.
Duarte, who hails from Hamilton, Ont., has spent the majority of the season in the ECHL with the Allen Americans, putting up 10 goals and adding six assists for 16 points in 28 games. Having gotten into one game with Cleveland, Duarte was held pointless.
Having turned pro in 2023-24, Duarte split time between the Calgary Wranglers and the ECHL's Rapid City Rush. Prior to that, he played parts of three seasons in the OHL with the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Soo Greyhounds.
With Duarte joining the Monsters, he could be a solid addition to the bottom six. Although he went pointless in 15 games with the Wranglers last season, he has shown his offensive abilities in the ECHL and should be able to adjust given time and opportunity.
