Clay Matthews expects one-on-one opportunities

One Packer looking forward to Julius Peppers joining the defense is Clay Matthews.

Matthews, looked at as one of the top linebackers in football, mostly gets double teamed thanks to his ability to rush the passer and stop the run.

But as Matthews sees it now, Peppers will help take some of the pressure off of him on defense.

"They're going to double the big guy, and that leaves plenty of opportunities for me. I haven't had too many one-on-one opportunities, and when you do, you're expected to win — at least in our locker room — the majority of the time, because that's supposed to be a mismatch," Matthews told USA Today.

Matthews battled injuries in 2013, which limited him to 11 games in 2013. He tallied 7.5 sacks after having 13 in 2012.
