Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold Set as UFC 194 Co-Main Event

UFC 194 has a co-main event.

Chris Weidman will defend the UFC middleweight title against Luke Rockhold at the Dec. 12 pay-per-view in Las Vegas, according to a report on Thursday evening. ESPN revealed news of the fight on SportsCenter.

Weidman (13-0) comes into the Vegas bout looking to further extend his undefeated record and title reign. After winning the belt from Anderson Silva over two years ago, Weidman again defeated Silva and followed that up with wins over Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort.

Rockhold (14-2) is a winner of four in a row, all of which were finishes within the distance. In his last bout, the American Kickboxing Academy standout submitted former light heavyweight title holder and middleweight contender Machida. Since the win, he has been the favorite to be next in line for a shot at Weidman.

The middleweight title fight will play opening act to a UFC featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and interim champ Conor McGregor.
