Chris Camozzi vs. Bruno Santos Added to UFC 175 Fight Card

Yoel Romero Drops Out of UFC on FOX 15, Chris Camozzi Steps In

A middleweight match-up between Chris Camozzi and Bruno Santos has been added to the UFC 175 fight card. UFC officials announced the addition on Thursday.

Camozzi (19-7) appeared on the eleventh season of The Ultimate Fighter. He defeated Hector O’Donnell to get into the fighter house, but suffered a broken jaw during the fight and was unable to continue in the tournament. He made his official UFC debut on the TUF 11 Finale card, defeating James Hammortree by unanimous decision. He followed up his debut win with a split decision victory over Dongi Yang in his next fight at UFC 121. He lost to Kyle Noke at UFC 127 and took a fight outside of the organization against Joey Villasenor in Shark Fights. He defeated Villasenor by split decision.

Following the win over Villasenor, Camozzi returned to the UFC to face Francis Carmont at UFC 13. He was defeated via unanimous decision. After the loss, the 27-year-old put together a four-fight winning streak. He’s lost his last two fights to “Jacare” Souza and Lorenz Larkin. He’ll try not to lose three-in-a-row when he faces Santos.

Santos (13-1) made his UFC debut in December 2013 riding a thirteen-fight winning streak. He suffered his first career defeat, losing his Octagon debut to Krzysztof Jotko by unanimous decision. The 26-year-old Brazilian has gone to a decision eleven times in this thirteen fights. He hopes to start a new winning streak when he faces Camozzi.

UFC 175 takes place on July 5 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The event is headlined with a middleweight title fight between champion Chris Weidman and former light heavyweight titleholder Lyoto Machida. UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey puts her title on the line against Alexis Davis in the co-main event.
