Chiefs safety Justin Reid drilled a 65-yard field goal at Kansas City’s training camp

When the Chiefs signed safety Justin Reid, they likely knew they were also getting a reserve place kicker, should anything happen to Harrison Butker.

Reid kicked off a few times in preseason games for his previous team, the Houston Texans.

“I grew up playing soccer, so soccer was my first love,” Reid said last month on “Good Morning Football” on the NFL Network. “I had big plans when I was young to go play in Europe, be like Didier Drogba, maybe go and play for Chelsea.

“And then I eventually ended up finding love and passion in football and around eighth, ninth grade, I made the switch.”

Although he’s a football player, Reid still gets a kick out of kicking, and Chiefs fans got to see that Sunday at training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Reid put a ball on a tee on the 45-yard line and made a field goal of 65 yards (yeah, it was on the other side of the 50-yard line).

The video, which you can see here, quickly went viral.
