Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes attends KU football game to catch alma mater Texas Tech win
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes attended the Kansas Jayhawks’ Saturday football game against his alma mater, Texas Tech.
The Jayhawks (7-3, 4-3 Big 12) fell 16-13 to the Red Raiders (5-5, 4-3) on Saturday. KU has now lost four straight to Texas Tech.
With the Chiefs on a bye week, Mahomes and his family were in the visitors’ suite at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. He was also seen in the hallway outside of the press-box suite.

Mahomes had a storied run with the Red Raiders, who entered Saturday’s game 4-5 (3-3 Big 12). He ended his career ranked third in program history in passing yards (11,252), touchdown passes (93), attempts (1,349) and completions (857).
Mahomes was inducted into Tech’s Ring of Honor in Lubbock, Texas, last season.
Mahomes has led the Chiefs to a 7-2 record this season, throwing for 2,442 yards and 17 touchdowns. In their most recent game, the Chiefs beat Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany.
In a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl, the Chiefs will next play the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday at Arrowhead Stadium.
