Chelsea's official club website appears to have let slip Alvaro Morata's shirt number.

The striker became the most expensive player in Chelsea's history last week, arriving from Real Madrid in a deal worth up to £70million.

However, unlike fellow new arrivals Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko, Morata's shirt number was not revealed upon confirmation of the deal.

Caballero will wear no.1, Rudiger with no.2 and Bakayoko taking no.14.

It is highly like Morata will wear the no.9 shirt; he is the new first-choice striker, the number has been free since Radamel Falcao's underwhelming loan stint and he wore the number at Juventus.

Scrolling through the website, Morata lines up between N'Golo Kante, no.7, and Eden Hazard, no.10.

He also wears a suit, though, so he could just be ditching the whole shirt thing and running out in Savile Row's finest twice a week. Pinch of salt required.

Morata will make his debut for Chelsea on Tuesday, with Antonio Conte confirming on Monday that the new signing will play a part against Bayern Munich in Singapore.
