The new Chelsea supremo has already begun a major overhaul at the administrative level, and is now set to do the same with the squad after taking over as the interim sporting director.

Boehly is expected to explore a number of possible player swaps, which could include Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech leaving west London this summer.

The Blues have been targeting Juventus star Matthijs De Ligt, and the Stamford Bridge outfit could use Werner to sweeten negotiations in a part exchange deal.

Since arriving in the Premier League from RB Leipzig, Werner has failed to reproduce his Bundesliga heights, but still remains a squad and fan favourite due to his hard-working demeanour. Chelsea are understood to be willing to let the 26-year-old depart, but only if the deal suits all parties.

Juventus are hoping to get as much as £86million for De Ligt which is not a figure which the Blues are willing to splash - especially after their expensive and largely underwhelming Romelu Lukaku saga.

Ziyech could be another name included in a potential deal, although Serie A champions AC Milan have already shown interest in the Morocco winger. The former Ajax star has failed to find his place in Thomas Tuchel's side since the German replaced Frank Lampard.

With regards to other incomings, Raheem Sterling remains closely linked with the Blues. The England international is understood to be Chelsea's number one target this summer. The club are also looking to complete a deal for Jules Kounde, although a transfer fee is yet to be agreed with Sevilla.
