The Charlotte 49ers’ football program will make its first appearance in a nationally televised game on NBC this fall, the American Athletic Conference announced Wednesday.

The network is scheduled to televise Charlotte’s game at Maryland at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 9.

The 49ers also will host a nationally televised game at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 27, as ESPN2 is set to air the Florida Atlantic game.

Other kickoff times and network designations announced Wednesday:

Sept. 2: vs. South Carolina State, 6 p.m. (ESPN+)

Sept. 16: vs. Georgia State, 6 p.m. (ESPN+)

Sept. 23: at Florida, 7 p.m. (ESPN+/SEC Network+)

Start times and network designations for the 49ers’ remaining games will be announced on a weekly basis during the season.

The 2023 season will be the team’s first as a member of the American Athletic Conference. Charlotte hired former Michigan associate head coach Biff Poggi as its head coach last November after firing Will Healy. Charlotte finished 3-9 in 2022 while competing in Conference USA.
