Charles Oliveira Released from the Hospital and Cleared of Major Injuries

UFC featherweight Charles Oliveira was released from a Saskatoon hospital on Tuesday and cleared of any major injuries following his UFC Fight Night 74 bout against Max Holloway on Sunday. The UFC released a statement providing an update on the Brazilian's condition.

“UFC featherweight Charles Oliveira has been released from medical care in Saskatoon today (Tuesday) and will be traveling home tomorrow. Preliminary test results for major chest, neck or throat injuries were negative and Oliveira will have a follow up appointment with his local physician upon returning home. Oliveira is in good spirits and appreciates the support he’s received from his fans during this time,” the statement read.

While attempting a takedown in the opening round, Oliveira suffered an injury and was unable to continue. He was transported to a local hospital for tests and observation.

Ranked seventh in the 145-pound division, the TKO loss ended a four-fight winning streak for Oliveira.
