The Charlotte Area Transit System is rolling out service changes this week.

Starting today, schedules for routes 16–South Tryon and 56–Arrowood will be adjusted to improve on-time performance, CATS announced in a media release.

In addition to the bus routes, CATS is also making changes to the LYNX Blue Line and CityLYNX Gold Line.

The Gold Line will operate from 6 a.m.-11:26 p.m. during weekdays, 8 a.m.- 11:26 p.m. on Saturdays and through 10:36 p.m. on Sundays.

“CATS implements schedule changes at least three times yearly (February, June and October) to make sure that posted schedules are accurate and serving riders in the most efficient way possible,” a spokesperson for CATS told The Charlotte Observer. “CATS updated the posted schedule to reflect the schedule the buses end up actually running on due to real-life scenarios including typical ridership, passenger onboarding time, traffic patterns, etc.”

Officials say these changes are only slightly different from the former schedule, by only a few minutes.

Riders can find current route schedules online at www.charlottenc.gov/CATS/Bus/Bus-Routes-and-Schedules. You can also track any changes to routes on the CATS-Pass app, which is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
