Champions League fails to deliver on second night 😴

Champions League fails to deliver on second night 😴

The new Champions League format was supposed to deliver entertainment value and its opening night certainly produced the goods.

Tuesday’s curtain-raiser for the revamped league stage yielded a combined 28 goals across six matches of Europe’s elite and 11 of them by half-time.

But the story on Wednesday night was very different with Sparta Prague and Celtic producing three of them in the opening 45 minutes of their games.

In total only 13 goals were plundered across the continent, proving that UEFA’s latest blueprint is still a something of a work in progress.
