Yahoo Sports Cattle hails Cornish Pirates after Caldy victory
Cornish Pirates coach Gavin Cattle says he was impressed with how his side dealt with difficult weather conditions as they won 22-3 at Caldy in the Championship.
The victory was the first time Pirates had got successive wins this season as they backed up last week's victory over Chinnor.
Arther Relton's early try and a Bruce Houston penalty saw Pirates lead 10-0 at the break before Harry Hocking and Relton went over in a three-minute spell after 62 minutes to seal the win.
It means mid-table Pirates now have a 14-point gap to bottom-of-the-table Caldy who have lost all seven of their league games.
"It was a game of two halves, directly into the wind and then wind at our backs in the first half, " Cattle told BBC Radio Cornwall as both sides battled Storm Darragh.
"Our reaction in the second half I've got to say was probably the best half of rugby, in difficult conditions, we've played this season."
He added: "It was really pleasing. Caldy are desperate to win themselves, they would have been licking their lips at the weather conditions with a big pack and set piece.
"But what was pleasing was we were under pressure in the scrum but we found a way to negate that
"That gave us a chance to impose our game plan in that second half."
