Casillas: We need to help out “companion” Kaka

LOS ANGELES – Kaka is an important player for Real Madrid, according to Iker Casillas. The Brazilian, linked heavily with a move back to AC Milan, traveled with the Spanish side to LA for a preseason tour.

Kaka took part in a training session Sunday morning, part of which involved a two-on-two matchup against Xabi Alonso and Mesut Ozil.

“What we need to do is help him out,” Casillas said through a translator. “We need to help so he knows he's our companion, he's our teammate. He's a very important player and he's playing at his level.”

Whatever happens in the rest of the transfer window, there's no doubting Kaka's quality or class, Casillas indicated from UCLA's campus.

“Maybe it's not that comfortable what he's going through,” the 31-year-old goalkeeper said. “For us, he's our category of player. Whatever Mister decides or the club, he's a very important player for us. We hold him as a teammate and a professional and as a positive for all of us. I'm wishing him the best.”
