Casey's General Store adds cheesy breadsticks and teams up with comedian Joel McHale for 'cheesy jokes'

Looking for a "grate" side to go with your Casey's pizza?

The convenience store chain has teamed up with comedian Joel McHale to promote a new menu item – cheesy breadsticks – and they're telling some, uh, Gouda jokes along the way. The chain is headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa.

McHale, known for his roles in "Community" and "The Soup," and as host of a bonus episode about the "Tiger King" series, partnered with Casey's to promote the new item as a "cheesy dad" himself.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Casey’s and their cheesy breadsticks because I love cheese and I love cheese,” McHale said in a news release. “Also, I love cheese.”

According to Casey's, the breadsticks are baked and prepared fresh daily and topped with real whole milk mozzarella cheese.

The new breadsticks come in an 8-stick order with marinara or cheese dipping sauce. From now through May 31, get the breadsticks for a promotional price of $3.99.

Casey's Reward members who order cheesy breadsticks twice in April with the loyalty program will earn 300 bonus points.
