Cardinals LB Daryl Washington sentenced to one year supervised probation for aggravated assault

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington was sentenced to one year of supervised probation by Maricopa County Superior Court Judge M. Scott McCoy for pleading guilty to aggravatated assault,

Washington allegedly assaulted a former girlfriend.

Washington is due for sentencing on April 23.

He had previously pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault and trespassing charges.

According to a police report, Washington allegedly grabbed the mother of his daugher by her throat and shoved her down to the ground during an altercation last year. She told police the NFL player broked her collarbone.

Washington is expected to be punished under the NFL personal-conduct policy.
