Canucks Gameday Preview #19: Sasson Make His NHL Debut Against The Senators

The Vancouver Canucks (9-6-3) kick off their six-game road trip with a battle against the Ottawa Senators (8-10-1). The Canucks have enjoyed plenty of success against the Senators recently, with Vancouver sweeping the season series in each of the last two seasons. Ultimately, this game comes at the perfect time for the Canucks, as Ottawa is currently on a three-game losing streak and has won just three of their last ten games.

Saturday's game will be a perfect test for Vancouver's power play, as the Senators' power play ranks sixth this season. Clicking at 27%, 17 of Ottawa's 59 goals have come with the man advantage so far this season. With eight power play goal scorers through 19 games, the Senators have players on both units that can light up the scoreboard.

Players to Watch:

Max Sasson:

Saturday will be special for the Sasson family as Max Sasson makes his NHL debut for the Canucks. The undrafted free-agent center has risen his way through the organization ranks and, after 79 career AHL games, will get to skate in his first game with Vancouver. With plenty of family and friends expected in attendance, watch for Sasson to have an eventful night against Ottawa.

Adam Gaudette:

All Adam Gaudette has done this season is score goals. A draft pick of Vancouver back in 2015, Gaudette is up to eight goals this season, with three coming on the power play. While it isn't his first time facing the Canucks since being traded in 2021, the former Hobey Baker should be fired up to once again face Vancouver.
