Canadiens: Harvey-Pinard Put On Waivers
The Montreal Canadiens had already extended Rafael Harvey-Pinard’s conditioning stint one and having played two more games, he couldn’t stay in Laval anymore without clearing waivers.
The Habs had to either recall the Quebecer or put him on waivers. With 22 players on the roster, they could have called him up, but with a Patrik Laine return coming any day now, it would have been delaying the unavoidable.

Of course, waiving Michael Pezzetta would have been a possibility, the gritty player has barely seen any action this season. Perhaps Kent Hughes figured RHP’s $1.1 M cap hit was less likely to be claimed on waivers, but whatever the reason, Harvey-Pinard must now await his fate…
