Canadians Howden, Thompson win World Cup ski cross medals in France

Canadian ski cross racers will bring home a pair of World Cup medals from Sunday's action in Val Thorens, France.

Reece Howden, of Cultus Lake, B.C., took silver in the men's final. Jonathan Midol of France won gold, while Germany's Florian Wilmsmann rounded out the podium.

Canada's Kevin Drury was also injured in Sunday's action, leaving the corse with an apparent leg injury in the quarter-finals.

Marielle Thompson, of Whistler, B.C., raced to a bronze medal in the women's final, behind winner Fanny Smith of Switzerland and silver medallist Jade Grillet Aubert of France.
