Call off the search: Oilers activate Cam Talbot from injured reserve

The Edmonton Oilers have activated goaltender Cam Talbot from injured reserve after he missed seven games with an undisclosed injury.

Back-up goalie Laurent Brossoit started all games in Talbot's absence, posting a 3-4 record and .892 save percentage.

In 22 games this season, Talbot is 10-10-1 with a 3.00 goals-against average, .903 save percentage and one shutout.

Talbot, 30, led the NHL in games played last season with 73 and was tied for league lead with 42 wins. In 208 NHL regular-season games, he is 106-74-19.

In a corresponding move Friday, the Oilers assigned goaltender Nick Ellis to their American Hockey League affiliate in Bakersfield, Calif.
