Good morning Calgary! It's Wednesday, March 4 — here's what's happening in Calgary today.

Weather

It'll be another cold start to your day today, but the weather is set to change dramatically by the end of the day. We're starting out this morning at –16 C out at the airport, but that temperature is set to rise throughout the day to a high of 3 C by late afternoon. The warm temperatures will continue throughout the next few days with highs of 8 C and 10 C expected on Thursday and Friday.

The Calgary Homeless Foundation released an update to its 10-year plan to end homelessness yesterday. With the target approaching in 2018, the foundation says an additional $290 million is needed to reach the goal, which includes housing 100 per cent of people experiencing chronic and episodic homelessness.

A telephone scammer involved with the "Microsoft Tech Support" scam has been recorded threatening to kill a Nelson, B.C. man. CBC Go Public reporter Rosa Marchitelli will bring us the story at 7:10 a.m. on the Calgary Eyeopener.

The Calgary Flames picked up a crucial win last night in Philadelphia, beating the Flyers in overtime by a score of 3-2. Jiri Hudler scored the winner for the Flames 1:23 into the overtime period. The Flames currently sit in third place in the NHL's Pacific division.
