Mainz star Jonathan Burkardt returned from a spell on the sidelines to score both goals in his side's 2-0 Bundesliga victory over VfL Bochum on Saturday.

The 24-year-old has recently been touted as a possible replacement for Omar Marmoush at Eintracht Frankfurt, with the Egyptian striker heavily linked with a move to Manchester City.

However, the forward made it very clear after the game that he's not thinking about a move away from Mainz.

"A winter transfer is not an option," Burkardt insisted in a post-match interview, as quoted by Kicker.

"I'm completely focused on what we're doing here at the moment. It's great fun," the striker added.

Burkardt joined Mainz in 2014 and has a contract with the club until 2027. He has scored 12 goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances this season.
